What this assessment covers: This assessment will help you evaluate your organization’s knowledge and practices in six key areas: religious staffing, sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) nondiscrimination laws, government partnerships, advocacy and lobbying, family-supportive workplaces, and positive engagement in the public square.

For each topic, the assessment and the corresponding resources are divided into three parts: public policy, organizational practices and public positioning.

Who should participate in the assessment: In filling out this assessment, you will need knowledge about many different aspects of your organization. Any individual leader can benefit from going through this assessment, but we encourage multiple people from the organization to participate to get more comprehensive answers.

In addition to the Toolboxes, Sacred Sector offers free access to the Standards for Excellence®. The Standards for Excellence® code covers the following areas of nonprofit operations: Mission, Strategy and Evaluation; Leadership; Board, Staff and Volunteers; Legal Compliance and Ethics; Finance and Operations; Resource Development; and Public Awareness, Engagement and Advocacy.
